What SocialGrow’s MCP can do
Ten tools cover account insights, workflow results and automation drafts. Account insights sync approximately every six hours. Some metrics depend on account eligibility, permissions and available history.

You control what goes live. New drafts support comment-to-DM keywords, a DM, an optional link button and public replies. Finish advanced settings in SocialGrow, then activate the draft yourself. The MCP cannot send messages, publish posts or change live automations.
Your data has context. Lead tools return counts and sources, not individual contact details. Inbox conversations are outside the current toolset. Workflow performance includes lifetime totals; use your own payment or booking records to establish revenue.
Which Instagram MCP approach fits your task?
Choose by the account you need to access and the action you want to take. SocialGrow fits creators and businesses analyzing their own connected accounts and preparing comment-to-DM campaigns. It does not research arbitrary public profiles or publish Instagram content through MCP.

One hosted connection
Connect your assistant to SocialGrow
Use a compatible client with custom remote MCP and OAuth support. Your assistant’s subscription and workspace settings may affect availability; those costs are separate from SocialGrow.
- Connect your Instagram professional account. Use your SocialGrow account and an eligible paid Pro subscription.
- Add SocialGrow in your assistant. Paste the server URL in its custom MCP settings and complete SocialGrow OAuth sign-in.
- Review the authorization. It covers insights and automation drafts for your connected Instagram accounts, including accounts added later.
- Ask your first question. Start with “List my connected Instagram accounts.” Disconnect an app at any time in Settings → AI assistants.

What is an Instagram MCP server?
An Instagram MCP server gives a compatible AI assistant tools to work with Instagram-related data through the Model Context Protocol. SocialGrow’s hosted server reads your connected account insights and automation results, and creates automation drafts for you to review.
Can I connect Instagram to Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, through SocialGrow’s remote MCP server and OAuth sign-in, when your assistant account supports custom remote MCP connections. Assistant plan requirements, workspace permissions and available settings vary. The public setup guide covers Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.
Is this an official Meta or Instagram MCP server?
SocialGrow provides this MCP server. It connects to your SocialGrow account, which uses Meta authorization and Instagram APIs for supported features. It is not an MCP server published by Meta.
Can the AI send DMs or activate automations?
The current MCP tools can create and duplicate automation drafts. They cannot activate a draft, edit a live workflow, send a message, publish a post or delete an automation. Open the draft in SocialGrow to review and activate it.
Does the assistant see my DMs or lead contact details?
The current tools do not read inbox conversations or individual lead contact details. Lead tools return counts and sources. The assistant can read account metrics, post captions and automation configuration, including the messages and links you configured.
Are the analytics live?
Account insights sync from Instagram approximately every six hours. Available metrics depend on your account, permissions and sync history. Automation performance includes lifetime counters; it should not be presented as a date-filtered sales report.
Is MCP included in the free trial?
Included with paid Pro subscriptions. MCP is not included in the free trial. Rolling out to all paid accounts. If AI assistants is not visible in Settings yet, contact support for access. Any fees for your AI assistant are separate.
Can I disconnect my assistant?
Yes. Open Settings → AI assistants in SocialGrow, find the app under Connected apps and choose Disconnect. The authorization covers your connected Instagram accounts, including accounts you add later; disconnect it if you no longer want the app to access them.
