How to connect your Instagram account

SocialGrow connects through Meta’s official authorization flow. You never need to share your Instagram password with SocialGrow.

Before you start

• Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account.
• Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page through Meta Business Suite.
• In Instagram, enable Allow access to messages under Settings → Messages and story replies → Message controls → Connected tools.

Connect Instagram

1. Open SocialGrow and choose Connect Instagram. If you already have an account connected, open Accounts and choose Add Instagram.
2. Continue to Instagram or Meta’s authorization screen.
3. Review the requested permissions.
4. Leave all permissions switched on, then approve the connection.
5. Return to SocialGrow. Your Instagram account will appear in the dashboard and you can create your first AutoDM.

If you turn off a permission during setup, a feature that depends on it may not work. Adding that permission back later requires disconnecting and connecting the account again.

What SocialGrow can access

SocialGrow reads your posts and comments so your workflows can respond when people engage. It sends messages only through the workflows you create.

SocialGrow does not post on your behalf, send messages outside your workflows, or store your Instagram password.

If the connection fails

Try the connection again from Accounts. If the link expired or Meta did not return the authorization, start a fresh connection rather than reusing the old browser tab.
